Ecological Remnants
GALLERy 429 – Cincinnati, OH 2023
Every living body leaves behind remnants. They are products of our lives and part of our ecology, trace connections between all living things. From the soil beneath our feet to our ancestral DNA, they all contain remnants of life before us. These works are remnants. Remnants of change, time, and decay. They are what we leave behind, bound to the earth. I find myself struggling to deal with change and my inability to control it. Time moves too quick, and the seasons just keep changing. Rarely do we take the time to reflect and contemplate change. Change can be cruel, beautiful, and confusing, yet it’s imperative for life itself. These remnants are proof of life, of what was, and what has become. They are vessels of our existence.
